White leaf on plant...oddball?

Louisville, KY

Another Alocasia x amazonica question......Why does this plant have one pure white leaf? The others on it are green. Is this a genetic thing or something else? It is beautiful. What is this type of oddity called? Thanks!

Don't have a clue as to what caused it but find it interesting.

Could it be sun burn?

This is just a genetic mutation usually seen in Tissue cultured plants. In some cases they can be interesting enough to name but they should be constant and hold this shadow look. Here is one I saw a few years back.

not to be mean but it is a bit insipid. I would lot rather have lots of effects v/s mostly just white... but I guess that is my preference.

I think it is beautiful. white or whatever it might be.
It was 3-4 plants back in the greenhouse on the floor so it was not burned in anyway.
I heard the term is called chimera from a hort. major girl at my work. She says that one part of the plant can have one type of DNA and the other will be totally different. Interesting...........it is a tissue culture plant too. I got it as a lil baby and have raised it.......
