Surprise! Look what I found sending a spike up

Louisville, KY

This Alocasia x amazonica is sending up a spike. What will it do? What can I expect? Is there anything I can do now to possibly do something to propagate it? it is the only one doing it.
Isn't it rare to have this happen or will all of my aroids eventually do it this time of year????

It is getting ready to bloom! Happens infrequently, but always possible. Scroll down on this page to see a bud beginning to open. Will probably be shaped like a calla.

I just got surprised this morning with another one sending a bloom up! whoo hoo!! I would like to try to be like Brian and try my hand at pollinating them. Maybe get some seeds. Does anyone know if the seeds are big like cannas or 4 o'clocks? I hope so. They love the fertilizer and lights I guess.

There are several good threads that Brian posted on Tropicals forum. He goes into detail about the bloom, pollen and how to pollenate etc.
