I try not to be violent but I was seriously upset this morning. I went to check on my monarch cats and of coarse I was looking for the biggest one I saw yesterday. Well I find this STUPID bug sucking the guts right out of it!!!!!!! I took him to the driveway and smashed HIS guts out. It made me so mad!!! It looked like a stink bug in a way. Anyone know what it might be and how I can kill anymore without harming my cats? I am still fuming!!

Ouch! I'd be mad also. I found some kind of bug biting one of my cats this morning and took him out too. I'm sorry I can't help with the bug ID but I understand how you feel!

Oh, so sorry! :( It was probably an assassin bug, just doing what he does, which is sucking the guts out. Assassin bugs come in various shapes, sizes and colors so it's hard to know which one it was but they all have a sharp "thing" that curls underneath their head that is what they stab their prey with and then use it as a straw. It happens. The only way to protect the cats is to bring them inside. I have a lot of little assassin bugs and between them and the spiders my cats are barely making it inside. Every time I go looking I just find little weird black blobs which I finally decided is the remains of my cats.
