Cat Tail Question

I snagged a cat tail head at the last rest stop dh and I stopped at coming home from vacation, I can't take a picture of it, cause the fuzz goes everywhere, My question is, is it the fuzz thats flying every where the seed to this?

Don't know where the seeds are but in NC we can't pull cat tails its not legal here.
But Once upon a time I had some in a milk can and I had sprayed them with hairspray to keep them from desinigrating. OK I can't spell but you all know what I mean.LOL

Mae, They use to grow along the tracks in the ditch row next to my house when we first moved here along with pussy willow, Haven't seen any of it in years and years.
I think it is pretty mixed with certain dried flower arrangements or by it self.
But I never new it was edible.
