That's it! That is what I have, and those things have messed up my yard. It is so nasty. Those aphids fly, they land on me and in my hair. They land on my roses, and the gooey stuff attracts ants. The leaves from the trees are coated with goo.

To fight them are the lady beetles, but you can have too many lady beetles and their larva. The combination of gooey leaves, flying aphids, and hoards of lady beetles make me want a freeze, and soon.

Under the tree the lady beetles have coated our little statues, and nobody would want to sit on the bench.

Do you have any idea why they came, and only seem to have come to my house and my neighbor's house?

They love hackberry (sugar berry) trees. Have any of them around? Apparently they arrived in Florida a few years ago and have become a general nuisance in the southern states. They also feed on China berry trees here, but to a much lesser extent than Hackberries. Don't seem to bother much else.
