I just decided

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I don't care much for the mini trailers. My favorites are the larger plants with one crown.

DC metro, VA(Zone 7b)

lol.

I'm not a big fan of trailers either, although the real minis do make for nice groundcover under other plants.

personally, I lean towards the mini / compacts with neat rosulette foliage. The big standards are a bit too ... big.

Morning Ladies,

I like the mini trailers....but I have to agree with the biggies...they are beautiful but take up too much room!

Different strokes... The mini trailers are some of my favorite plants! I also like other minis, and since I'm a big fan of "girl" foliage I'd have to say that "neat" foliage isn't a requirement for me, although I really love Rob's and Pittman's minis for their tide rosettes of leaves...

I have a few large standards that I love, but I try to keep their numbers down, partly as a space consideration.

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

LOL!!
That must be why I have so few AV's.....'cuz it's the Standards that I loves, and they have to compete for light with all my other plants.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

My trouble is I Iove them all! At least you know what it is you like most, makshi, and can concentrate on those.

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Yes Snow I like the ones that form a nice round look. That doesn't mean that my all do. I don't have enough proper light to get them all to do that.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I know what you mean, makshi.....

My perfect african violet dream would be to have all the space, time and money for all the wonderful violets I would like to grow.

The Heart of Texas, TX(Zone 8b)

I haven't found any of the Av's I don't care for...except the ones with green flowers..lol
Why do we need green flowers???lol

I started growing the trailers in any size because I figured at least I could "save" part of the plant from my bad growing habits. Now that I kinda have that under control,( lol & crossing fingers) well I just love em all.

Now, I wonder what if anything, the type of AV's we like, say about our personalities??? you know like they say owners favor their dogs???

Oh MsC....

I LOVE the green flowers!!!! I am not crazy about green in general but I absolutely adore it on violets!

Well I haven't figured out how to grow trailers....can you share what you have learned MsC please and thank you!

Joanne,
That's too funny...tree's and grass are green but not BlOOMS! lol
(giggling of course)

I'll add some info on my trailers on another thread...I just took some interesting pics of a few, some good some not so good. You might enjoy it.

Interesting thought there, MsC, about the size and types of violets liked and if it relates to one's personality? Something to think about.

I never really cared much for trailers until this beauty that I grew from a single leaf--Biscayne Trail. I'll grow anything with girl leaves.

See if everybody liked the same thing it would be a dull world!
I do not care much for girl leaves I like varigated leaves and pretty much anything else leaf wise.
Colors have to be bold for me! And unusual like Chimeras and thumbprints! Love those!
