I was out taking a few yard pictures today & decided you all might like to see my girls.....even though they refused to look at the camera!
In this picture..from L to R...we see the tail end of 'Merryweather II', next to her is 'Flora II' and she is looking at 'Fauna II'...in the foreground are 'Hester Sue' & 'Jemima'...in the back near the fence are 'Carrots', 'Big Mama' & to the very right in the middle is 'Little Buff'......thrilling names, aren't they, lol....
A few pictures of my gals
and here's another picture....
This is 'Little Peep'...we have no roosters, but a few weeks ago, our neighbor came over & thought she was bringing us back one of our chickens & it's chick...well, we weren't missing any chickens, lol...but we decided to see if the new hen & chick would be ok in our coop of big heavy girls. Amazingly, no one messes with them! Anyway, here's the baby...so cute...I'm just hoping it's a pullet!
& here's one more that was cute. When I was taking the pictures, my son came out...and by this time 'Hester Sue' had snuck away for some egg laying. Well, he looked in the nesting box area & goes..."Mom, there's a very serious chicken in here"....LMAO....I asked him why he thought she was 'serious', and he said, "she's working on an egg, look at her serious face". (as if their expressions are sooo different, lol). Anyway, he's 5....
So, here's 'Hester Sue' doing her thing....
Adorable! Did you see my post about the portrait of a hen deep in thought? SHe was laying too! THat is so funny that you swiped someone's chicken and chick accidentally. I wish that would happen to me! LOL
