and to think I was going to throw her in the pond lol. Still may unless fall weather shows some great improvement in her. Finally got a bloom to fully open even if I did have to get it off the ground. Apprently she is very heat sensitive because she has dropped about 20 buds so far without opening even half way. Pretty one! I've had some old ones not opening fully this year, think it has been too hot. They are now staying on and blooming correctly.

this is the only one I am having a problem with dropping buds

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

well, I'll be. if that is not the dreamiest hibiscus I've seen in a while! worth the wait. Threaten her a little bit, maybe she will be scared straight.

Pretty Donna. Yeah it has been hot and dry here.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Donna, I think you should send Stolen Kiss to me, maybe I could make it better. :-)))

I too am losing a lot of buds and wondered if it was because I was using Messenger. My plants seem have a lot more buds this year but they are losing a lot too.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Those are my colors, Donna! I am in love. I hope it is not a touchy one and will get over being tempermental soon. I need this one. LOL

Gloria, yours is smashing too. A real gaud bloom!

In Paradise is just beautiful. I had it from the co-op but lost it in Katrina

When I tried to find "Stolen Kiss" on the web, all I could find was a pink single on the Touch of Tropics website, http://www.atouchofthetropics.net/cultivars.html

Does that big gold butterball have another name, or could there be two?

It is from the Cajun series I believe from Dupont Nursery. Just remember different enviromemtal factors affect colors. California doesn't get as hot a we do, they don't have the humidity and they have cool night. Not 85 like we have been having. She may bloom differently for me come fall. We will have to wait and see

My " In Paradise "from last year's coop has one bloom opened and another 5 buds (2 almost opened) my camera's batteries need changing,so hopefully I'll get a picture posted this evening.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

can't wait to see it

Long Beach, CA

Donna...I just checked out the one (Stolen Kiss) on the Dupont cajun site, and it appears as a large white single with red center. Are you sure they sent you the correct plant (or tag)?
I really like the one in your picture, but am having doubts that it is "Stolen Kiss". I wonder what it could be?

lol I bought it at a nursery and that was what it was tagged. Will have to go look at the Dupont site. All of the others I got from the Nursery have been tagged correctly.

hmmm just looked at all their pics and doesn't look like any of them for sure. Sure is a beauty though

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Carlos has not been around much but he will know what it is. Whatever it is, I love it.

Kyle(Eclipse), also would know, I'll bet. He has not been here either.
