We are getting a wonderful shower right now!!! we had almost forgotten what it is like.
Anyone else getting rain too?
Halleluia!!!! It is raining in Arlington!!!
Not yet but we are hopeful here south of you. Just send it on down.
we are. was thinking about y'all in n. texas. you've had a rough summer with those non-relenting 100s.
Rained here too!!
My hubby said that some areas of San Antonio the water table is so low that they don't have water in their wells.
Anyone out there affected?
YES! bone dry and the Edwards Aquifer is getting lower and lower... :.( My flowers are really suffering. It just breaks my heart. I may have to devise some sort of sheeting for shade. Actually lost my rattlebush... Just send it down our way, Josephine...lol
I would love to Melanie, but I am sure one of these days it will happen there too.
Nothing but really bad heat. Yes, go out and blow rain clouds in our direction. I don't think people really know what a drought can do until they live through one for at least several years. And no forecaster can tell us for sure when it'll end, so I'm going to assume it'll continue unless I see a few months of "normal" rainfall. Away from the watered yards and businesses, the plants look real bad now. But the Big Tooth Maple in my yard looks pretty good. I love that tree!
It's really sad about the Edwards Aquifer. Today, my husband and I were dream talking about moving after my daughter graduates. This is if his new (portable) business venture takes off. I said something about how we could move to the hill country. He said "Arkansas". He mentioned the aquifer shortages getting worse and worse. I think my dream of living on one of the rivers down in the hill country is not really very realistic. :( The damage being done to the natural flow of the spring fed rivers and the aquifers is probably going to continually excellerate.
