Anybody know this one?

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

Not terribly fancy, but one of those that stands out a mile away, seems like. Yesterday I couldn't stand it any longer and went in the local feed store where this hibby is grown and asked for a cutting. The man looked at me like I was crazy and said yes. The 6' X 6' shrub was full of blooms yerterday, but I think a light rain might have caused them to drop. Anyway, I took my cuttings and went on my merry way.

It just goes to show, you can get a nice cutting, if you aren't afraid to ask for one. Good Job vossner.

I think I have one of those but can't remember what the name is right off hand. But I do know someone will come in and know it.

Looks like Florida Sunset. can you get a closer pic??? :-)

good luck with your cuttings. It is very pretty

unfortunately, I don't have a closeup pic. I dont think it is the FL Sunset because on this ole boy's shrub, the yellow rim is much wider. I bet this guy has had that shrub 20 years, if not more. I'll have to ask him.

well ya know If I had a few cuttings to grow out then we could ID it better. ;) Let me do some research thru my older hibiscus cultivar lists.

Could be "Burnished gold" or "Mary Kay" both older hybrids

Burnished Gold would be pretty darned close
