Hey, all.
I recently was gifted with a small Stephanotis plant.
(I've been wanting one for quite some time!)
I'd received some nice long cuttings of a *variegated* Stephanotis in a trade last year, and was unable to get them to root....I failed miserably.
Luckily this plant is rooted.
I thought I recalled reading that some of you also grow this.
If so, do you find it's care and it's wants to be similar to hoyas?
(Preferred potting mix, humidity, light, etc..)
I'm particularly looking for advice for growing this *indoors*, but any advice will be much appreciated.
TIA!
Stephanotis
Nan, I too would be interested in any responses this may generate, as my son was given a stephanotis seed pod by the owner of a local nursery. So far 7 of his seeds have germinated, and are looking really good, but I would love any information about growing this vine indoors also.
Thanks to anyone with info and growing advice.

I grow Stephanotis...sprouted a gazillion seeds a while back...and I find they grow like hoyas but are a bit fussier. The variegated one is a pain...I gave up on that one. The green one grows beautifully with something to climb on...feet in the shade, head in the sun. The most magnificent vine I have seen is growing on a cyclone fence in rock, no shade. Go figger!!! WARM!! HUMID!!!
No clue about growing them indoors...sorry.

I've grown stephanotic indoors, it did quite well and was really easy. I grew it like the bulk of Hoyas- bright shade, no direct sun, moderate water (not as dry as carnosa). The smell is wonderfull, as are the flowers. I recall it bloomed quite well, especially after giving it a dry spell of a month or so with slightly less water. I don't think they need to be as root-bound as Hoyas, though.
