CLOSED: Wanted: Dinner plate Mums
You do know they get to be the size of dinnerplates, right? At least mine do. You don't want to plant them this time of year, though. They have to be dug up and stored inside for the winter unless you're in a warm clime.
Actually, I don't dig mine and they have survived 10 years in the ground but in a very warm spot tucked in a corner between the house and the back porch. But I don't recommend that.
Don't mind me. I thought you were talking about dinnerplate dahlias. boing
You're talking about football mums. Sorry about that.
That is OK. I grow dinnerplate dahlias. I know I shouldn't, but I keep mine in the ground, too. They are tucked in between the driveway, house and sidewalk. I also had some I was too lazy to dug up that survived out by the septic tank. I had to dig them up this year and move them, they put in sewers. I am hoping thy do OK. They still aren't blooming yet. They are growing, just slowly, getting over the shock.
