Leaves Falling on my Singapore.

Baton Rouge, LA

All of a sudden the leaves are faling off my Singapore Plumeria. We have had a lot of frequent rain showers followed by baking sun. I am also wondering if I overfertilized it.

One good thing is that the main stem is firm and the very top leaves seem to be OK. This is a plant I rooted in the Spring about 3 feet tall. The leaves that fell off had brown splotches on them as if they were burned by the sun, however, I have not moved the plant. It has been in the same place for a few months.

Does anyone have any idea what may have caused this. Although common Singapore is one of my favorite plumerias.

Well mine get blasted by the sun and it has rain here for many many many days now..
I would think it is the latter "Overfertilized" or "Heat".
But...
Brown splotches on the leaves mean she got burn but a singapore with its thick leaves must mean its near something that has projected alot of heat on her aka wall or glass door..
Put her in another location away from late afternoon sun and don't feed her for awhile..
To be honest i would in the early morning water her until water runs out of her pretty good and then mix a bucket of water and SuperThrive together and give her some of that but don't drown her..
Then let her dry a little and if still no rain water her again only this time just the water and ST mixture and don't drown her..

What i told you should cover you in any of the 3 probable causes..
Don't get water on the leaves unless it's early morning...
Also a puddle of water next to her can do some serious damage from sun reflection..
Be aware of her surroundings aka can anything reflect the sun rays on her that may cause sunburn..
