Just to keep Linda quiet, I am posting some photos !
This is some nicotiana and 4 o'clock plants that seeded themselves from last year.

This is our patio at the back of the house. It was sad looking concrete and I decided to "stamp" it with a tile pattern. It looks good from a distance !

My long bed in the back yard which is full of tropical style plants (and a few other orphans !) This is the one bed which have to be dug up in the fall.
Please excuse the grass, when we were in Scotland in June, my son was staying at our house and let his female puppy piddle on the grass !

This was my first brug that I grew from seed some four years ago, B. Sauveolens (sp.?) It is tall but not particularly graceful, but it holds a special place in my heart !
That's all for now,

Just lovely, Heather. A wonderful place to retreat after a full day at work.

Nice job!

Thanks Steve, I don't post very much but I have been following your posts with interest as I came to Victoria, B.C. from Glasgow 30 years ago. I was a little easier back then to make the move, and I have never regretted it !

We are planning a holiday (sorry vacation) for October next year and tour your area to get a 'feel' for the place and check out a few things

Heather you garden is as lovely in the photos as real life. Tis not bragging at all, but sharing some beauty for us that don't have the gardens we'd hoped for this year. Thanks for getting the photos up. :)

Super! Thank you for sharing. I bet your back yard has a super scent.
I recognize the Gazebo - isn't that where some New Zealand grass was shared from?

Awesome garden Heather and what a treat it will be to see that Ginger bloom!

Victoria,, BC(Zone 8b)

Glad everyone enjoyed the pictures ! Yes, annabell52, that is where the New Zealand flax was chopped up ! And as it was for the compost bin, It is a nice thought that pieces of it are now in other parts of Canada!

From 6 lupine plants that seeded themselves, I now have a wonderful collection of color combinations, that cover my ugly slope, and hides the very rocky soil. I now have a slope that I'm very proud of

Heather,

Finally had time to look at all your pix again - longer. Totally lovely. Have you put in some other thread instructions for your patio 'stamping'?

Snoopy must find out how to do this

PS. Oltmanns, your lupins and TBs are so pretty. Yu need to start yur own thread and show us the rest of your garden. BC weather ----- we work very hard here in Manitoba to keep lupins on the go.

Inanda,
I haven't put the instructions anywhere - I think there is lots of "how-to's" out there. My husband thought I was crazy to try this but he decided to help by starting to lay out grids and masking tape etc. It was taking too long so I just got an 8" sponge, dipped it in a mix of two colours and eye-balled it ! I am not sure how it will stand up but time will tell.
