Help with 'droopy' Peace Lily

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9b)

When I got this

http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/99642/index.html

from Lowes a few months ago, it was more 'perky'. Now the leaves are firm, but droopy.

The plant gets some diffused morning sun thru a screen and vertical blinds, is potted in consistently moist 50/50 peat/verlite covered in forest moss with great drainage, gets fed half strength plant food monthly. The leaves look fine, no brown or necro or yellow, and a new leaf is growing.

Question: Is this normal?

A tad more light might help.

Did you repot it?? It looks like it might be set a tad too low in the soil but it's hard to tell from the pic.

The other thing I notice is it doesn't appear to have a drainage hole in that pot??? What did you use for drainage?? Could be the soil is water logged at the bottom/or sour???

I had this on my covered patio before and it was toooooo hot for the peace lily. So I moved it inside.

There's a drainage hole in the bottom of the main part of the urn, covered by screen and a little bit o' styrofoam block pieces. It seems to drain very well so I'm not sure it that is the issue. W/O digging it out I can't tell about that soil.

It is repotted, and the soil level is low (below the rim) so the runnoff won't spill. But I'll check to ensure that the plant isn't covered by dirt where the trunk starts - thx for the idea to check that!

Maybe just check it & see if it might need a lil more water??
Mine looks real similar when it's thirsty...if that pot is clay & not sealed then it dries out faster that we think...I know from personal experience..lol

I use the styrofoam block pieces or Pnuts myself from time to time.. works great! So that's not the issue.

Have you also checked the roots? Check them to make sure they are light colored and firm and that there are no root mealy bugs present.

This is so funny. Although the soil was moist, apparently not enough, because last night after seeing the 'new' leave drooping, I took the whole thing outside and gave it a great watering. This morning it was perky again. thx!

Yep...I agree. Peace Lilies get droopy when they are thirsty.

ah... a happy ending!

At least it wasn't anything seroius!
