Both very pretty! I noticed they are different shades of white....which one comes first?

Maben, MS(Zone 7b)

ahelms your are much whiter than mine, I wonder why. I think Doris sent this as a cutting to me maybe she will see this and have some input into this.

How many days have your been open? Mine opened last night so maybe they will get whiter. ?

Ya'll last year when I started getting blooms, I attempted to verify that all the labels were correct because my French Vanilla bloomed Pink, actually an Isabella, I believe. Then my Isabella bloomed orange, so I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that at least 15 or so of the cuttings I had purchased from the same person were in doubt. I speculate some sellers had obtained cuttings, grew them to get more cuttings, but never verified the blooms against the labels.

One of a handfull that I felt comfortable in thinking was correctly labeled was Snow Cone.... lol lol lol Now who knows!! BUT into the pot I throw a picture of my Snow Cone.

Snowcone isn't a double. Hybridizer was Larry Smith

Doris the link I posted at 11:21 is has a picture you posted of Snow Cone you posted July 25 and she doesn't look dbl. I received the cutting last fall from you and it was labeled snow cone. I for sure do not know if they are the same, I may have another unknown white.
LOL
Maybe the second day the yellow turns white like ahelms

YB, my Snowcone blooms had been open for several days

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Well now I am confused, the one I have called "Snow Cone" all this time has very thick skirts and they do not drop down, the pretty much stay close together, they are pure white, right now they are infested with Japanese beatles just like everything in my garden, Savin dust is not doing the job this time.
Look what they are doing to my flowers.

So far this one is ok but see how tight the skirts stay.

Maybe Monika, or kell will stop by and help us out *S*

Boy is my face RED while taking a picture outside my 'grass cutter' was there, he just came to the door to tell me he accidently sniped the label off my plant and put what he thought was the correct label on only this double is GOLDEN LADY as soon as he told me it clicked, (sorry, being 80 has nothing to do with it) and the one I sent you yardbird is SNOW CONE LOL

Maben, MS(Zone 7b)

Doris I know how things like that can happen. I made me a list where all mine were planted so if I loose a tag I will still have a back up. Sure hope I don't miss place the list. LOL

yardbird - take your list , put it where the flower is take a picture , put on your computer .
I mark my pictures CG8-24-06 Charles Grim 8-24-06
You mite mark - list - 8-24-06 . A lot easier to keep track on computer .
If you have Microsoft office or something with a drawing program it's easy to change . Most picture programs have an editor to add names .

Here are the blooms this morning you can see they loose the yellow after a day.

Doris, I'm having a time with the Japanes Beetles also. I think they are immune to anything I've sprayed with.. LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Doris, I was looking at your cute double and thinking it has to be Golden Lady. I love Golden Lady.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

yardbird that is how Snow Cone is starts out slightly yellow then goes white.
kell how could I forget how lovely GL is, she was my first brug to bloom

Those beatles are the pits,if you do find something that kills them it also kills the plant.

Maben, MS(Zone 7b)

Thanks Doris and I was just reading that Pyola gets Japanese beetles.

You guys, I can sure see how all of this happens. My daughter sent me a picture of a beautiful pink flower off of a cutting I sent her last year of Monster and she says "mom I thought Monster was white." My monster is budded, so we'll see. I only had one brug bloom last year. That is why I don't know what mine is.

Doris, that is so sad. These plants just don't seem to have a chance do they?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Too bad Doris!!

Gosh, I am so glad I do not have Japanese beetles. I have enough trouble with cucumber beetles which, knock on wood, I seem to have gotten rid of for a change. I used Bayer Tree and Shrub on just my biggest bloomers thinking the beetles would all come over to take a bite and then die. And then I sprayed Raid for flying bugs whenever I saw them for about 3 days and now I haven't seen one for quite a while.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

It is not only my brugs, those beetles have devoured my roses, I put so much dust on them they look like they are in the snow, but the beetles are still there

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Doris, they're all over my Brugs, Roses, Four O'clocks, yellow Moonflowers, Okra, corn and everything else they can mess up. LOL I've sprayed with numerous things and in two days they're back as strong as ever. I just don't want to kill my butterflies and other good insects.

Houston, TX(Zone 9b)

Butterflies are pretty, but I don't know that I'd call them a "good" insect. "Good" in a "warm fuzzy/people wuv buttufwies" kind of way, but definitely not a "good" in a "beneficial insect" kind of way! After all, they lay the eggs that become brug-munching caterpillars! And they don't even touch my butterfly weed!! LOL!!

Premont, TX(Zone 9b)

Ruth this is a beautiful brug.
