Thanks for the id Christine, the name tag is in the pot somewhere but I can't see it where it hangs.

It's lovely Linda. I really like that first picture......all that green with just the little flash of red. I have a small plant. I think it will be a while before I'll see any flowers but I sure love the leaves.

I too, love that first photo,. Linda. So lush. Such a healthy looking plant. My DS-70 is growing so slowly, but again, I too enjoy the foliage. My leaves are red tinged because of the east sun it gets each day. Have to water often. Your photos give me a boost of enthusiasm of treasures yet to come. Ü

What a beautiful plant. Is this a plant that likes alot of water? vicki

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Thanks all, jll I don't know the different water requirements. I need to make myself a chart and have some way to mark the ones that like lots of water and those that like little. For the summer, they're on my deck under a pergola and there are nearby trees that provide 7/8 shade. They get short bursts of sun as it moves across the trees.

This is a group shot.

Linda, your plants are absolutely beautiful. It really is something to get those first flowers isn't it!! I am usually just about to give up on a plant, when it surprises and delights me with blooms.....must be the watched pot theory in action, the ones I don't check will bloom, and I will almost miss them, and then the ones I keep a constant eye on do nothing. HA. Congratulations!

Linda,

Now that you've gotten your first bloom on DS-70, it will probably explode with buds. Mine (a med. sized EA plant from HD) took about a year. After that first bloom, within a couple months, I had 11 blooms at the same time! It's a faithful bloomer for me.

I'll have to look it up, I don't know their names yet. I like it too, it's growing like crazy.

Congrats Linda on your bloom and bud. Isn't it just wonderful to get a bloom? Your plants look really nice and healthy, looks like they love there location. Keep up the good growing....

Thanks Tami, some of them were yours but I've got them all mixed up right now and without the tags I don't know one from the other. I'm going to feed them again this morning, we had a nice rain yesterday afternoon and they seem to like that.

The little flowers are falling off the bloom already, how long do blooms usually last?
