Found a row of 14 white eggs on my defoliated passion flower vine.
They are not from any butterfly that I know of. The eggs are bigger than butterfly eggs. Am thinking they are some sort of insect but have no idea which one.
Am going to move them into a cat cage tomorrow as it's already too dark to be outside looking for them again. II know I'll be mad when some assasin bug or other predatory bug hatches after I've baby-sat them for a week or so!!!
That's the price I pay for my curiosity...guess time will tell.

Unknown eggs...probably insects?
Kewl picture!
I know some people don't like predatory insects but, they really are good :) they also eat all those bad guys out there, I love all of my critters, I also have to see one eat the other on occasion (yuk) but... I have seen one of my snakes eat one of my toads and have even seen one of my 12" skinks eat one of my little toads but... I guess that's way it goes. It will be neat to find out what you hatch out. Hurray for your curiosity, Cat.
Thank you, for sharing this.

Texas, what is a cat cage?
I lost my pearl necklace, thanks for finding it. :-)
A cat cage is a container I use for raising caterpillars. Anything from plastic food containers, rubber maid plastic containers, aquariums with a screen lid, pop up meshed clothes hamper, reptariums etc. For the plastic containers I cut a large hole in the top and hot glue tule/mesh fabric for fresh air.

Cat,
So i put the cats into the container and what else? I have some plug parsley. Do i put it inside for them to eat? thank you. i want to do one.
Funny Joepyeweed...that was exactly what I thought of when I first saw these eggs lines up like that!
Spider...am going to start a new thread posting some of my cat cages. Hopefully others will add photos of theirs too.
I will also explain that I use wet floral foam to hold cuttings and leaves and that I put in dried branches or wire jungle gyms for the cats to crawl on and pupate.

thank you very much Texas.
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww hope you squished it unless it is a good bug
What a neat bug!! Does anybody know what kind of bug it is? I have found that by planting California native plants, I get a lot of new insects that I have never seen or haven't seen since I was a boy.
Thanks,
Chuck
Am thinking it's probably some type of stink bug as I have a security light close to where I found it. Have seen lots of those green stink/chinch bugs on the brickwork. Am pretty sure it's a predator too. Grrrrr!

I've discovered that most of the time when I find eggs lined up like that, it's not something I want! The last row of them I found were these little square brown eggs. I'm pretty sure they were Milkweed bugs. The nymphs look a lot like another type of orange assassin bug I've had, but pretty sure so I got rid of them because I don't need more of either.
Konkrete...I had some of those last year too. The eggs were a golden color...but same nasty bugs like yours emerged.
