Anyone have a Mexican Shrimp Cocktail Recipe

I've been to Mexico a few times and had a terrific Shrimp Cocktail. It is almost a cold soup. The base is a very light tomato sauce with onions, avocado and shrimp. I have tried to duplicate it without much success. Does anyone have a recipe that sounds like this?
