It's gorgeous, but makes me despair of getting a bloom from my first-year seedlings. They're about 3 ft tall now, and no Ys.

Whoops I may have gotten my cutting and seedling mixed up. as someone has told me seedlings are 99 per cent white, the little guy next to the big one must be the seedling. sorry, lost tags

Andycons, I found Messenger gave me Ys faster than nature does and when the seedlings are much shorter too. But I would think in your zone if they have not Yed yet, it is too late for this year unless you have a warm GH. Do you have a place to winter them over?

Veeja, I always call ones that look like yours Frosty types because the Frosty look seems to be prevalent in many seedlings whose parents are a suav hybrid. We used to get lots of the white suav like blooms posted but seems like to me that the pink rimmed ones now are posted a lot.

A couple of years ago, it was true most seedlings were white, we used to call them ADW (another darn white). LOL! But now we have more PINKs available with lots of PINK in their background so we are getting more PINK babies. It all depends on who you pick to be the parents.

Nice Brug

That type is a good bloomer usually. I love the wide open face look, nodders are my fav.

I've contacted Eden Bio and Messenger is not yet licensed for sale in Canada, alas.

I think you're right, Kell, about the lateness of the season. It's already getting down to the low 50's (F) here at night, so I think I'm out of luck.

I'm hoping to put some of my babies in a friend's solarium for the winter, keep one or two in the house and stick the others in the basement and let them go dormant. This iwll be a learning experience!

And just think, they will bloom early next season for you!

I can't believe the fall is almost here. If this were spring, I would be in good shape for the garden year. Daffodil bulbs are already in the stores and I haven't planted all the ones I bought last year.

Kell you sound like me. Last week I opened a styrofoam container in the garage to see what was in it...& there were poor bulbs from "sometime" that never got in the ground, They went to the compost pile. I also have about 4 six pacs of flowers needing a home SOON! They have way out grown their pots!
It's only time, eh? Bj
