I like the flowers on that jasmine. Mine are sitting on my deck and the smell is breathtaking in the late evening and early morning. Later pops!

It has grown quite a bit since you were here, about 4ft tall and 3 ft wide, probably the best fragrant one too!
Later Son!

That's a lovely flower!

Is the scent like true jasmine, or the more gardenia-like fragrance other plants dubbed "jasmines"?

Robert.

Hard to tell,I say jasmine wife says Gardenia!!!
One thing tho, leaves look like gardenia leaves.

Thanks Tropicman.

Try a snort of Jasminum sambac (like "Maid of Orleans") for comparison. That's one of the truest examples of jasmine that I know of. Heavenly!

Yes,I've grown that one before, very jasmine fragrance, had it for 3 years, then it's leaves just dried up and the plant died,I wouldn't have felt too bad if it had been during the winter, but it was during the summer That I lost it!!!!
It had a nice size trunk on it too!!!

Bessemer City, NC(Zone 7b)

Oh, what a shame!

I've lost them to that sudden death drying up in the winter, too (did I let it get too dry?) but have managed to get them through before that. I really got so tired of picking up leaves!

Wish I had me a greenhouse. That make winter so much easier.

Tabernaemontana is one of my faves...I love the one with the long tubular flowers...forget the species...all of the 'tabies' are such fun....

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

I've seen tv shows showing the one with long tublar flowers, wondered about the fragrance, thinking the larger the flower the stronger the frgarance!!!!

Robert,I wished for a greenhouse for a long time, finally I just built one!
Now I have 2 more and a sunroom,and a large Garden room,it never stops!!!
Until you run out of land!!!!LOL

Thanks for the encouragement, Tropicman.

I hear greenhouse are habit-forming.....
