Paul, what kind of seasons do you want? Do you plan to raise animals, veggies, what?

A consideration for my sister and me when she bought this place this summer was quality health care as we are not getting younger. Rural land is always cheaper but health care isn't always available close by.

Paul, we looked all over the SE. Our little pocket here had almost everything we were searching. 19 acres, creek, spring, barn, house, etc. $89K. I'm thinking of raising some fish in the pond that's my spring overflow. Just need to enlarge it. Right now it grows watercress which I might try to sell to upscale restaurants... but that depends on the e. coli test I just sent out.

darius,

You have intriqued me. I thought for sure that VA was more expensive than that. Now I must look at land there also. DW is in love with VA and TN.

Calvin, most of VA is expensive. We just happened to find a cheap pocket in SW VA, about 40 miles above TN.
