I just got up! Had a dinner party last night (for two other couples) and was sooo tired this am....
SUNDAY, Aug 20: Texas "Coffee/Tea" and Gardening
So hot and >humid< today! Really meant to work outside no matter what, but just filling the birdbath and feeders was exhausting. Not smart to risk heat stroke........
The humidity is so high, I stepped outside and wilted. I've made one or two runs out, prune something and run back in! It's just to hot to do anything outdoors in August. Better to sit inside with an ided tea and watch the plants wilt!
What is with this humidity. We have had virtually no rain and 100 plus temps with incredible humidity. It sucks the moisture out of the pot plants, our little pond is all but dry. This morning we walked out a small flea market ( only bought a plant : ))) but the weather was awful. Am I just getting old?
I went out and watered everything this morning early like I do every morning and when I was finished I didn't have a dry thread on me. :( The humidity is so high it really takes the zip out of me. Makes me feel so tired.
No Pod you're not getting old! I think this heat and humidity does everybody in no matter what their age.
It's so hot and dry here dh is selling off all but about 15 of our cows.
I got up at 11 this morning but I'm already getting tired and sleepy...I think it's that I cleaned the kitchen 2 times today! We're so spoiled, aren't we? I remember my grandmother cooking 3 meals a day!!!
We moved my daughter back into her dorm for the fall semester. Why move in day always has to be during the hottest week of the year is beyond me. We were there extra early, got a close parking space and the move was easy, but it wiped me out. After we were done i came home and collapsed on the couch for a nap. I felt totally drained so I didn't even walk in the garden today.Tomorrow is the funeral for an elderly aunt of my husband's so that will be a long, hot day too.
The only thing getting me through these next few days is looking forward to visiting a friend in Montana later this week. Can't wait.....
I took Robert back to the ER this evening. I hope it's nothing, but after a stroke and heart attack this summer, chest tightness and even slight pain have to be checked out. His vital signs and EKG were normal, so we are waiting for blood work results and tomorrow's tests. The doctor on call thinks it might be pleurisy. I came home to sleep a few hours before going back in time for his regular doctor's morning rounds. Robert was comfortable and ready to sleep when I left. Now if I can just get sleepy!
Teacup...I'm not sure about college start times, but a new law passed about 5 years ago in Texas will take effect next year..whereby....we can't legally start school until after Labor Day!!! Should save billions in energy costs because it's so hot in August when we start. I remember when I was a little girl...starting first grade and needing a sweater.
My best to Robert!!! Get well quickly!!! Hopefully he will be able to come home soon...
