Just got my indoor worm bin going again and did something that I thought I would share. I have very few worms in my new bin (have to pick them out of outdoor bin making sure not to get anything else - darn earwigs) so I made them an orgy sandwiche or nuptial bedding this is newspaper (bread) used coffee grounds and cornmeal layered between the paper....I swear something about this combo.......Remember if you are not a coffee drinker Starbucks has a corporate policy of giving used "Grounds for Gardeners".
Orgy sandwiches not for the timid or faint of heart....
Melon rinds also produce ecstasy in worms.

Cool I need all the help I can get to get my population up again - do you chop up or just throw in whole?
We throw them in however we eat them. Watermelon rinds are usually in chunks. Cantaloupe are thrown in as half shells and we'll find a big tangle of worms inside. Be forwarned that melon rinds can cause a stampede!
Big tangle - thats what I am talking about - when you find them and they look like a scene out of Aliens 4
