Oh thank you!!!!
I posted her nursery info under texas gardening forum.
Do you know if she ships? I have one I planted as a tree last year. We had a really bad freeze so my husband cut it down and was going to dig it out. (I begged him to leave the stump) It came back this summer but my flowers do not look like the ones in the picture you posted. I must have a different variety.
Do you have a pic of yours? I'm sure someone will know what yours is. I have B. mexicana and my flowers look just like the link Moodene posted. I got mine mail order last year from Yuccado, I'm pretty sure they still have it in their catalog so if you can't get it shipped from the other place you could get it from them.
The leaves are so cool. I am going to have to get one!
Marie, it's hard to tell from your pic what yours is. Does it just have single flowers, or do they come together in groups? Yours has a bit of the spidery look that B. mexicana has, but it always has flowers clumped together, so if yours is just a single flower then it's a different one.
No it has clusters of flowers although they are not always opened at one time. But they come out white no pink tint at all and no fragrance that I know of.
I'll have to go sniff mine--if there is a fragrance it's not one that I've noticed as I'm just standing next to the plant, although maybe if I stick my nose in it I'll notice something. And the pink tinge vs white may be something that varies from plant to plant. B. mexicana is the only one I know of that has flower clusters that look like that, many other bauhinias have larger more individual flowers.
Then I guess I will just keep buying them until I hit the jackpot with pink. I use any excuse I can to buy more plants!
Marie! LOL.
