That would be a Hornworm. They can and will destroy your plant! I had two on a Datura, and they practically demolished it right before my eyes

WOW! I have Sphinx moths all over my yard every night but I've yet to find a cat. I figured they'd be on my moonflowers that the moths are all over every night but not 1.
