My Prize Hibiscus

Apopka, FL(Zone 9b)

I'm new to Dave's Garden but thought I'd post this picture. I bought this a few months ago and it's growing like crazy. It has dark green lustrous leaves and at least 2 or 3 blooms a day. Look how many stamens it has!!!!

Just beautiful. Good photo too.

Welcome to Dave's! Such a gorgeous flower...and if you hang around with us, it'll be only one of many- we're terrible influences! :)

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Looks like "Pride of Hankins" a very good bloomer and grower. this variety is so strong that many grafted kinds use this one for understock to graft onto. :-)

Thanks, ardesia, Tess and eclipse. I think it's a Pride of Hankins too (judging by the pictures) but I couldn't find a picture of one with as many ruffles and stamens as this has. I'm definitely going to root some and plant them everywhere!

I'm thrilled to have found Dave's Garden and these forums.

Welcome to DG. I think I am going to have to have one of those.

WOW that is gorgeous.

Thanks, Donna and ilovejesus........... It is really spectacular and it is growing like crazy. Very hardy with dark green leaves that offset the beautiful pink blooms.

I remember when I bought it (but can't remember where)........ I wasn't looking to buy another Hibiscus but it caught my eye. It was the only one like it (There might have been others but they weren't blooming) and I just had to have it! Now I wish I'd bought every one they had!
