Wow, I am totally there! Where did you find out about the sale? Is there more info somewhere? I bought my Simple Pleasures from them and it is, so far, the best website plant purchase I've made.

I'm crazy about Morning Glory. I bought Edna Boegart from Logees, which looks pretty similar to MG, but they have done poorly inground. Wonder if MG is tougher, all my other hibies are doing great. Can't help but think EB is just weak, seriously thinking about giving up on EB and replacing. MG would be an excellent choice.

This Morning glory plant was from Logees. Is the second one I have had, the first got big and then damaged, so had to get another. I love the flowers on it.Have not grown it in the ground here. I also have Mr. Ace..I hope its as nice a color as shown everywhere.Hasn't bloomed yet. It's about 24 inches tall.I wanted to make a tree out of it but will have to take a cutting and train it. the main plant is crooked near the base.ahh the joys of tree training..LOL

I had the EB from Logees and for a while it did well and the flowers were amazing then it just went into a decline and croaked on me. It was very strange; perhaps you are right Vossner, maybe they are inherently weak. alice

I bought two three years ago. they did well for a while, although not blooming much, them croaked. Logees tried to do right by me and sent me replacements. I potted those with the idea that I would make them strong enough before transplanted inground. A year went buy, they grew well, then I transplanted inground and the decline started.

Maybe it is just better as a potted plant, I dunno. I won't buy anymore but would like to find something similar.

Ardesia, I got a nice call from Byron at Logees. Short of it is: growing hib. in a controlled Connecticut greenhouse and then transplanting to Texas inground environment might be too much for this or any other fancy hib.

He suggested buying a hardy stock and grafting some EB cuttings. I would be interested in doing this, but it has become Item #499,998 on my list of things to do, lol. I bet, though, that would be the way strenghten the plant. Shouldn't be hard to do.

Meanwhile, I will just sigh lustily at Kyle and others' hibbies.

Hmmmm, mine was not in the ground and I have had trouble with other hibs from Logees, they are just soooooo tiny when you get them. They need lots of extra care like the preemies they are.
I asked about grafting recently and Kyle suggested perhaps that is not the best way to go.
Isn't Byron nice tho, the Logees folks are always willing to speak directly to you and that speaks well of them.

Byron is a great guy. I have dealt with him a lot. Not all hibiscus do not grow the same.some are genetically stronger growers than others.

:-)
