Hi all.....
There may be an upcoming AV show or sale in your area.
The Mid Atlantic show looks promising for me to attend in New York. I'm sure both Lyon's and Rob's will be vendors. Love seeing plants in person vs. ordering.

anyone going to the DC show who wants to try to meet up, we should arrange secret signals or something ;-)
We will have to think about that. Would be neat to meet there. Maybe I will wear a neckscarf or something prearranged. Any ideas?
it looks like I will be in town for the DC show - current plan is to go on Sat. If anyone wants to try to meet up, I think 2 or 3pm would work for me.... ?
I'm trying to convince DH that an outing to the arboretum would be just the thing on Saturday.... but I'd really love to go, regardless! I'll have to see if the logistics work out... I'm still on meds for this IVF cycle, so the possiblity of migraines means driving is iffy for me, but I may be able to persuade a friend to go or opt for the metro + bus routine. :-)
I checked those web sites, and stumbled across a gessie show in Boylston, MA this weekend, so off I go. At the Tower Hill Botanic Garden over there, which I didn't even know existed. With 132 acres of gardens, trails, and meadows, how have they been hiding it? Which just goes to show it pays to check those schedules even when you're *sure* there won't be anything near you. :-) If anyone wants to meet up, I should be there Saturday afternoon, dmail me. Probably I'll come home with some plants. ;-)
I thought I'd bump this up on the chance that somebody might be going to the National Arboretum tomorrow on a route that takes them through Frederick... DH will probably have to work tomorrow (boo!!) and doesn't know if he'll be able to get away by noon... He's willing to take me down Sunday, but I wanted to meet up with folks there tomorrow if possible... we're just a couple of miles from 70 or 270 or 15 or 85... If anybody is able to give me a ride, I'd be happy to treat for lunch, parking, whatever.
I did Dmail Snowrose last night, but haven't heard back, and I haven't seen her posting lately.... sure hope all is well with her!
Hey Snowrose!
Good to see you posting! Was getting worried about ya!
Joanne
That wasn't her posting, it was me! Snowrose hasn't posted on this thread since Aug. 25.
Hi Critter....
Oh :((((
ahhhh unfortunately I'm driving from the opposite direction :-(
Yes... although I really do appreciate your offer to drop me at the metro on the way back, I'm not sure I'm up for the train + metro + bus combo tomorrow morning. Jim did say he could go on Sunday, but I so wanted to go when I could also meet you! (Will all the "good plants" be gone by Sunday? LOL)
Yippeee! I've heard from Snowrose, and we are making plans to go down to the DC show tomorrow afternoon. (Both DH's are working today.) Keyring, any chance you'll be there tomorrow also? I don't know if you entered plants in the show that you'll need to come back to pick up.... but if you'll be there at all, let us know when!
GrowHappy -- are you still going? Today or tomorrow? Let us know! :-)
no, I have to work tomorrow.
I expect to have pics up on flickr late tonight. Quite a small show but some stunning plants. I heard that more plants will be brought in for the sales table tomorrow.
*whew!* Hopefully there will still be some "good ones" in the afternoon. I'm sorry you have to work tomorrow... hopefully we'll be able to meet up another time! Do be sure to LMK if you're ever heading up this way!
