Wanted: Passiflora Incarnata

Edinburg, TX

Howdy,

Am in desperate need of passiflora incarnata aka maypop plants. The Gulf Fritillary caterpillars have stripped my only vine. I've collected all the late instar cats and put them into cat houses so they could pupate. All have successfully gone into the chrysalis stage and I've been releasing butterflies daily. I still have small cats on the vine but the leaves are getting scarce. I have been unable to locate any p. incarnata at the local nurseries.

I have these plants to offer in trade:
White Ruellia (mexican petunia)
Oyster Plant
Red Jatropha (about 5" tall)
Chalice vine rooted cuttings
Texas Sugarberry sapling (about 10" tall) aka Sandpaper tree (anacua)

Large 6" tuber: Black eyed susan vine (thunbergia) blooms orangish yellow
Fresh cuttings: Devil's Ivy aka Golden Pothos Ivy aka Tonga Vine (epipremnum pinnatum)

Seeds:
Yellow morning glory (ipomoea ochracea)
Henka Asagao Blue Blizzard Morning Glory
Purple Hyacinth Vine
Lion's Tail (leonotis menthifolia)
Yellow Orchid Vine aka Yellow Butterfly Vine (stigmaphyllon littorale)

I have a bunch of starts coming up around the mother plant, will send you some, don't know how long the roots are, some are a foot long, I'll try and get some to you, I'm kind of busy moving right now but will try and get to it as quick as I can, I would really like some of your Yellow MG seeds :) A friend of mine is insane about yellow lol I don't think I have ever had a yellow one either.
Thanks, let me know :)

The GF's will also thrive on p. incense.
This is the first year I have not had any GF on my incense.

Budgie,
Do you have a picture of the p incense? I have tons of vines but no flowers yet to tell if it is incense. The leaves are in 3's...Janetlee50

Cat they also thrive on Caeruella, Allardi, SunBurst Whorley, Incense, Altropuprea something or other I have(spelling), Membrancea and another one that I can't think of the name. They have stripped all mine just about clean too.

Donna, I had a huge caerulea that they never touched. That vine was very overgrown and I cut it back severely last week to make room for passifloras I hope to receive in trades.

I purchased a pura vida passiflora last week because the leaves appear to have the same shape and feel of my defoliated vine. I've seen females flitting around it testing the leaves but haven't found any eggs on it.

Our local nurseries sell other exotic varieties that I doubt they will use so I don't want to waste my money on them.

Alas, I am desperately waiting for incarnata or incense and hope I get some soon. Must promise to myself that I will plant enough this year for the frits!!

Another odd thing...there is a neighbor a few blocks away that has a huge vine that looks to be identical the my defoliated one. Am thinking it's the same vine and I was going to snip some cuttings and try to root them but I've never seen any Frits or cats on it???

Cat,
I can send a box of cuttings but not rooted if it will help. I think I may have one pot of a rooted incense that I dug up from an unwanted area but I will have to look to be sure.
