New work area!

Louisville, KY

Well we have been working on a shade house that wraps partially around my two propagating greenhouses. The shade was brought here today and put on. I am extremely lucky to get three nice stainless steal tables to go in it with a sink and all the fixens. Makes for a great area to pot up plants and trays.

Here is the frame made out of fence tubing. The back area is my work station the side area is being cleaned out for more tables and trays.

looks nice, nothing like working under shade cloth in the summer! Makes me want to go transplant right now-which is good, cause thats where I'm going! I just wish I had the shade cloth outside....

Nice setup you got there, Brian. BTW, what are those fan palms you got in the second picture there? Palmettos?

Fulton, MO

Brian, you appear to be using a restaurant-type stainless steel counter and sink there. That's my setup in the greenhouse...mine was salvaged from an old gas station that closed years ago. You have a PVC trap on the sink, but it appears to just end in the air. What's up with that? Mine just drains into a 5 gallon bucket.

Thanks.

Well that drain hangs out far enough over the side were their is a ditch directly to the left of the pic. The water drains straight into the ditch I have been finding a lot of colocasia excapes living back in the ditch sense I have started doing this LOL.

Your sinks reminded me that about 30 years ago I had a GH and was able to get a fantastic 8' long stainless sink/counter set up for pennies from a place that sold surplus equipment from hospitals and schools. My sink came from Johns Hopkins Hospital and was brand new but the Health Dept. had just changed the rules and this sink was missing something it needed to comply so it was junked.

I am going to start looking for state surplus sale notices I bet I can find something to use at my potting bench.

Brian nice set up!

Nice setup Brian!
I work for a Restaurant supplier and those tables come dearly.
Should work perfectly for your application.

AND Brian, when you have that counterspace covered with plants that need repotted, I'd be glad to help! Very cool!

Louisville, KY

Thank you I could repot thousands of plants a year. But in most cases I just keep repotting up cuttings and seedlings. It is a constant uphill battle.

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Battle? Poor Brian. . . .

Hey Ric,

where were you when I needed help in setting up the soup kitchen here? I am a retired Certified Executive Chef and could have some used or scratch and dents. Oh well, God sent me others.

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

CNL,
We get few scratch and dents unfortuneately.
I do have some boil out 60 and 80 quart stock pots holding Brugs though.
As you know from Chef'ing most stuff is thrown out not worn out. lol
