I just went out and found several stems all shriveled up. What happened? HELP!!
Hap
Now What is Happening?
Did you spray or Feed ?
Nope.
I have two brugs on the side yard. The other one is doing worse...UGH...This was at least flowers to beat the band.
Hap
Doesn't look good Hap! I'm sorry, I surely don't know what it is. But I will say that it looks like mine after we've had 100+ degree temps along with 30mph winds. It's like a very hot blow dryer out there.....and then the mites sure don't help any.
Have you checked for mites?
Only you can determine if you have a mite problem by looking closely at the backside of leaves, but your problem looks exactly like what spider mites did to three new Dahlias this summer. Even with careful and thorough spraying with Neem I could not save them. My brugs. managed to survive but they lost a number of leaves. For about a week the temperature has dropped and I thought I was seeing less signs of mites, but today I was removing yellow leaves from the brugs. and found them covered with mites. Tomorrow I will spray with Forbid for the first time and will report back on its success or failure.

Oh, so sorry, know that makes you sick. I have been fighting white flies (turns leaves yellow, but new leaves are coming out) have you gotten a lot of rain, then hot sun?? Just guessing.. Hope you have more blooms, Elaine
I have no clue either, Hap. I had a similar thing like Brin said when my temps got so hot, and not all the branches were affected. But mine were just the tops
Your stems look green from here so I bet they will be fine. If the stems look hinky or the other leaves wilt, it could mean big trouble.
And I always blame and treat for mites if I have no clue. LOL. Though usually mites affect all of the plant, not just a few branches, at least at my house.
Heat stroke.
Just up checking Dave's. Can't go too long without checking in. LOL It's dark now when I get up and in the light, I will check. The only thing is that the whole end of the stems just pooped out....now just the leaves, like yours Kell.
Ah, just is life...
I think it is the dry and hot weather we have this year. Some of mine did that after several 100 degree days and no water.
