Thank you all for your birthday wishes and lovely flower photos ! I came downstairs this morning and my hubby has left my present on the kitchen counter - it was a huge plant encyclopedia that I had been coveting for quite some time ! As it cost around $100, I never imagined in my wildest dreams that he would pay that money for a PLANT book ! (His words, not mine !)
He is taking me out for dinner tonight to our favourite restaurant so I am a real lukcy ducky.

Another very belated Happy Birthday here Heather. I wasn't able to get to a computer until now. I hope your day, dinner and that lovely book are treasured for a long time.
I went over to see Heather's garden a few weeks ago and I can attest that this woman really has an eye and talent for gardening. I though I was beamed up and transported to Butcharts! She's even got this huge, and I mean huge banana hidden in her front garden between some evergreens.
Heather, you've got to post some pictures!
And yes, ggd, when you get back, we should get together, I'm game.

Thanks guys for your belated birthday wishes ! Yes, I do have a huge banana tree in the front yard - and I have NO IDEA what I am going to do with it in the fall !
I will take some pictures tonight , as long as no one thinks that it is too "braggy" LOL ! I was waiting on a ginger ("Tara") to bloom, but it looks like it will be a little while yet, although it has 6 stalks with a flower bud on them.
And yes, I'm up for coffee (or coke for Linda) as well !
