I need help. I want to transplant a whatever it is one's transplants from my grandmother's old climbing rose;however, I don't know when or how. I don't even know what kind of rose it is--just that it climbs. I'm in zone 6a. Thanks!

Thought I'd try to help since no one is answering, but you should probably ask this question in the rose forum where there's a lot of expertise.
Other than taking cuttings or layering, I would guess the only way to transplant this rose would be to dig up the entire plant. The only rose I have that suckers and forms new plants from the roots is an old moss rose.
