Need advice - this is not an upbeat thread

somewhere, PA

Our beloved cat Annie appears to be at the end of her days.
She is probably about 19-20yrs old. She was a barn cat that
came with our property (8yrs ago). She was diagnosed with
kidney disease 2 yrs ago and has gone from 12lbs to 6lbs
(probably less). She's been very bright & active 'til yesterday.

She is not eating & only puts her tongue in the water to wet it.
I'm not sure she's really drinking. She is wobbly and breathing
shallowly.

She hates going to the vet - its about 8mi from here. Do you
think we should drive her in tomorrow morning to be put to
sleep or let her slip away when its her time here at home?
