Dutch Iris To Trade
I used to grow these in NC, but they just don't do well in OH.
I wish I knew what I was doing wrong. I have planted them in full sun, part sun...with clay...with amended soil. If I am luck I get leaves, but no flowers.
HELP!
Meanwhile, if I promise to figure out how to give them a good home...can I tempt you with Miscanthus sinensis 'Morning Light'?
I have one of these, it's a dark purple almost black, it's gorgeous and the foliage is great too the way it goes back and forth in the wind, a friend of mine gave it to me, not knowing the name, I didn't really care about it, it didn't look all that great when he gave it to me, end of the season, and put it out back by my brush pile, oh my gosh, I should be horse whipped lol It took 3 years to bloom but was well worth the wait.
I think Ribbon Grass 'Tri Color' is hardy to zone 4, would you consider some of that? It's a beautiful grass, 3' tall at least in full sun, doesn’t get as tall in part sun but does get a pink tint to it, it gets thick in a couple of years and really looks good.
Or I could probably get my son to dig up some Zebrinus (the tall one). I have one small start in a half gallon pot of Miscanthus sinensis 'Variegatus'.
Perhaps a little bigger trade for all three?

Lesh,
Thank you :) I'll dmail you tomorrow sometime, I'm bushed been moving my son and DIL.
I'm really excited about getting these I think they will go great with my other ones, of course I'm worried now, hope mine will be alright when I move them to a diferent spot, I didn't care about them before and now I really want them LOL
Rox, mine are planted about 6' from a compost pile and I did put compost on them this spring late, other than that they are in clay soil too and sun from about 9-1, never watered after I planted, they had weeds growing all around them until I saw the blooms and started taking better of them lol Maybe they just want neglect?
LeBug-
I 'll try some compost and neglect!

I'll contact you next week about sending the plant. It is in a 1/2 gallon pot. Should I split it in half? That will give you a large plant, but won't cost a bundle to ship. Re: the number of bulbs...the more the merrier.
