Chirita Aiko

Drumheller, AB(Zone 2a)

This is a plant I got from a friend in Calgary, AB when she came out to visit me in June. This is the first flower that has opened and I read online that it is supposed to smell like chocolate. Well mine sure doesn't.

Pretty, though...

LOL... neither do my "Chocolate Daisies" (Berlandiera).

Very pretty, though, as Don said.

Does it have a scent at all?

Drumheller, AB(Zone 2a)

Nope nothing at all...unless it is at night but haven't noticed anything that smells like chocolate or I would be looking to see where that smell is coming from....LOL!

Thank you.

Joanne, do you have any other Chiritas? The yellow flower on your Aiko is so pretty.

Morning Snowrose,

I have several actually....I have a baby with a single bud on it right now but not sure of what it is. That flower took forever to come out. I bought that one in Calgary at the African Violet show and it was in bud then...that was April 28.

Good collection there! I only have two at the moment...Ch. Latifolia Dwarf and Stardust. Have a few more on the way and plan to add more. Can you recommend ones that bloom more readily?I remember having a beautiful foliage one that I grew for ages but it never gave me bloom one. Had Tamiana and it bloomed often. Easy to propagate from leaves the same as AV's.

Oh I love Tamiana....it is one of my favorites. I am really new to these Snowrose as I have accumulated most of my brand names as I call them since March of this year.

I would love to see your photos as well.

Oh Snowrose, that is simply breathtaking! I love it!

TFS! You should be right proud of that one girl!

Chirita Latifolia Dwarf - Sorry a little blurry and no blossoms but does have nice patterned leaves. Like I said earlier, chiritas are easy to propagate from leaves just as you would for violets.

Oh that one is pretty too. Is there pink in the leaves cause it looks like it.

Thanks for taking it.

Plant is actually more of a silver pattern.

Oh very similar then to Hisako...it is very pretty as well.
