Should I be worried?

.
I got messenger yesterday and sprayed for the first time. I have 2 brugs but I don't know what either one is. The first one someone gave DH a cutting. DH didn't even know it was a brug, so I didn't know either until I got my second one, which came from a Nursery but all I was told was that it is pink. The leaves are turning brown at the edges on this one. The leaves on it are thicker and fuzzier than the other one. Also it is not as bright a green. I am thinking they are turning brown because it is so hot. I hope it is not something else. Should I be worried about the brown edges?

I have no idea, but would think the heat might be the problem. Mine get really wilted in the afternoon but I haven't noticed any brown edges. They are only in the sun until about 2:30 or so. Some of my other plants are getting a little burned, though.

Geee, I do not know either. I do not get brown edges. Though I do not think Messenger would cause it, it never has here. Can you take a picture of it Yardqueen? That might give someone a better idea of what is going on.

They were brown at the edges before the messenger. They do not get afteroon sun. I don't have a digital camera but I am planning to get one soon. I also have no idea how to post a picture. I dont see any bugs except two medium sized green spiders. They have been on there consistantly. To me that means there may be something they are finding to eat. I am going to look at it with a magnifyer when I get home.

This brug has a Y now and I am watching what may be buds or may be new leaves.

I hope you get lots of buds!!

I know in other kinds of plants mites can cause brown edges. Mites love brugs. But with all the mites I have, I have no brown edges. So I am at a loss to help.

When you get your camera, it is easy to post pictures. We will all help you.

I wonder if the brown edges are from fertilizer build up? Are these in pots?

Emory, TX(Zone 8a)

I have 2 brugs both in the ground about 3 or 4 ft apart. The other one is very green. It is possible that I did fertilize too much. But I use a time release granular type. But if that could cause brown edges then maybe...

Emory, TX(Zone 8a)

The one that is green has not been planted as long as the other one. It was in a pot in another location and i decided to put it in the bed with the other one. it would not have surprised me for it to have wilted or turned yellow or brown because of moving it and also because it is in more sun now. but it is fine. I am sure they are different varieties...their leaves are different from each other.

Usually brown edges at my house means not enough water. Was the one you transplanted rootbound by chance?

Emory, TX(Zone 8a)

no. and the one i transplanted is not the one with the brown edges. and we are watering it every day.

I checked with a magnifying glass and I could find nothing moving or that looked like a bug or even a fungus. I got some epsom salts yesterday and I am wondering about using them. If it is from too much fertilizer would the epsom salts help or hurt? Any other ideas anyone?

Are all or most of the leaves on that plant have brown edges? You can take pictures with a regular camera, have them developed at Wal-Mart and ask that they upload them to their Photo web site so you can share them. Then one of us can pull them down and post them for you.

I will try that
