This is one of a batch of plants I got from a friend a while back . Flowers are a nice pink, and, there are lovely variegated leaves too.
I posted a couple of weeks ago that I was disapointed with a couple of others brugs' blooms. This one is turning out right though. Can't wait util I can see them fully open.
German Brug 'Katrien Bonte'
Love those variegated brugs. Pretty, pink?? We ALL want one of those! Post more pics, when you can. Thanks!
Must be Miner's Claim. Yours looks so pretty!!! I love so much variegation. I may have to break down and get this one. Do you keep yours in shade? And will you leave it out all winter? I wonder if it can take light frosts.
Edited to add - LOL, I totally forgot the title by the time I read your post Brad. I just saw your title again when I was back on the main brug page and saw my error. It looks so much like Miner's Claim. I wonder if yours is a sport too and from which brug. Just a lovely plant. I am so partial to variegated plants.

I love the variegation of the leaves.
Please post another picture when it is fully opened.
Thanks,
Louise
I believe this one is a Euro brug. It's been listed at Dorothea and Herbert Langenberg's site for quite awhile. Too bad the picture does not show up.

Sure is beautiful ncassleberry. Glad you are not disappointed in this one. :)
Kell, Vee8ch is correct. Actually it originated in Belgium according to Anne Kirchner-Abel's brug site. It is so hot right now I am surprised the thing is doing anything, except that I do have it under an oak tree and amidst several large plumerias, which keep it nicely shaded. It's about 4 feet tall and in a 10 gallon pot that has rooted to the ground. The yellow and green variegation is stunning. These flowers were discovered just today and were a little heat stressed so I hope the open nicely and aren't "warped" from the heat as some of mine have done lately. I have a feeling these Euro-brugs will all do better in the cool of our long, extended Fall here. I will leave it outside like all the rest last year. I have a few large brugs that have been in the ground for 5 years now---Dr. Suess; White Suaveloans (my favorite for number of blooms and fragrance); Pink Insignis, and Peach Versicolor. All of these are about 10 feet tall, except for one of my Pink Insignis , which is abour 12 feet tall (getting leggy too and needs a good pruning if I can get around to it). It might get hotter than the dickens here, but it is good for growing big brugs, providing you give them lots of water the first couple of years.
I've had Miners Claim for a year, and it's hardly grown and hasn't bloomed.
This one is an improvement over Miners Claim. It's pretty Brad.
Very nice!! I sure do like that variegation. And the pink flower is nothing to sneeze at either. LOL, An old saying from my mom. Jeanette
I've had my Miner's Claim since early Spring, and even though I've poured the fertilizer to it, it has not grown 1 in. Guess I'll dig it out of the ground and put it in a pot. It is too small to even support a bloom in the ground.
Hey Ncasselberryfla when you do that pruneing on the 12 foot send the cuttings to me LOL . nice Brugs Regards Paul
Thanks for posting the opened picture. I like the waxy look on the blossom and the leaves are very beautiful.
Great job!
Louise
Beautiful! Looks like you've got a 6 pointer :). So many of my own brugs put out these mutations as first flowers. Really cool looking :)
That is beautiful. Hope it is available for sale someday.
Thanks ya'll. I think I love the leaves as much as the flowers. LOL
