The plant is still struggling a little but look at this beautiful bloom.

Flamingo Plume.... another of my $1 purchases
Wonderful color. Did I miss something; where did you find Hibiscus for $1.00? alice
At the local K-Mart.... just a lucky find, the 4 plants were small and so pitiful I thought twice about buying them, but remembered that last year they had beautiful big doubles and thought these might be from the same source. I've been very pleased. 3 had names 1 did not but I was able to identify it from a posting here at DG.
Thank you for the posting.

Thanks Judy, now I am going to have to add K-Mart to my rounds. Good Grief.
$1!!!!! You are so lucky! Congrats!
The other two plants have been the victum of one of my stray dogs that came to stay, he keeps digging a hole between them in which to hide so he can pop up and try to catch the rabbits and squirrels. I think I have him broken of the habit but the poor little plants have had their roots dug up 4 times.

Judy, nice plants. Never know what you will find, but if ya don't look ya won't find em. I get around on the weekends lookin for deals. I need a life..***SOBBING** :-)
You make me smile!!!

Hmmm., no K-mart here, but I DO have to go to Augusta today; I know where 2 K-marts are there! Can't resist a bargain, and it seems those rescued plants are just like rescued animals. They are so.....grateful!!
I was in Wally World yesterday looking for a large indoor green plant for my son's new apt, and they were having quite a sale on speciman trees that were outgrowing their pots, i.e. $30 jap magnolias for $5.00 Of course, they looked as though they had not been watered in weeks. The clerk said it was a sin, no one seemed to think it was their job to water the plants. Too bad I was driving his little bitty sports car or my yard would have to make room for some new friends. I seriously considered putting the top down, but I resisted, but only 'cause it looked like rain!!
Lowe's on Sunday morning about 10 is usually good, not many customers so the clerks are pulling out and marking down pitiful looking plants. BUT be sure to check for insects. I bought a trunk load of 2 gallon canna for $2 each one time, only to get them home and discover slugs. Those canna worked me HARD!!! Now, I'll get what I want, put it in a cart, go to checkout, pay for one, tell the clerk what I'm doing so I can just push my cart to the side. Go to my van and unpot it. If it doesn't have insects, I pot it back up and purchase the other plants. If it has insects I take it home and treat it. Treating one is much easier than a van full. lol lol
This is the link to my latest "FIND". I thought these were not labeled correctly and I was right, but oh what a good deal I got. I'm planning on repotting them for those who want them at our Mid-South Fall RoundUp 9/23 http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/636832/
