I grew out the seed, Kell's Baby Girl X RK. She really is so cute.
Here is Tracey's seedling
Kell/ all those blooms.. it's like hearing of a party you missed... and you just got the stories about it..but she's doing well..
Greattomatoes... I'vea pile ofthe little yellow ones.. in a type called sun gold... lovely strong tomato taste...
so .....I tried shooting at night .. with the new camera.. useing a along exposure for the first time tonight with no flash.. it almost looks like day time.. so when the brugs get going.. I'll have a new toy to use with them.. Gordon
I am going to make tomato pie tomorrow night with them! YUM YUM
That picture has such a great effect, Gordon. I love the feeling it gives. The city in the background is so cool. Just thinking my kid is out there somewhere. I hope he is being a good boy. LOL.
I need a new camera. It sounds like yours is not on auto. I think I need camera lessons to make the big jump from auto. Do you love your new camera? What are you doing up so late?
Hay... OH.. just up playing plants... I got a nap in the garden today... I'm sure your boy is doing just fine... nothing like years of the suggestions... from mother..if you ever need anything concerning him..just let me know.. and I'll go bail him out.. I've a car and anything would be real easy... I do some brain surgery on odd days.. sorry no dental
yes.. I had a digital auto only camera.. but it drove me mad.. it would naver focus on what I was looking for it to get... like trying to shoot a picture of the big red tailed hawk on my A/C unit.. outside the window... it kept focusing on the plants in the window... not through to the hawk...I was livid.. and how often in NYC do you get the chance for that shot. I moved up to a Nikon d-200... it is 3x the size...but does it as I ask...and I don't ask much right now...still learnning ... like a computer ... you learn to do something when you want to do that ..thing..but the camera was on full auto.. it chose the settings and exposure time it wanted.. I guess it thought I wanted it to look like day time..it made the night look like day.. to some extent..
this one wasa bit earlier in the evening.. and it wasbrighterout.. soit didn't give me as much shutter time so it looks darker than the first one when it was darkerout.. later at night
kell that flower is BEAUTIFUL
Gordan, I keep looking back at your night photos as they are so good. The view of the city is perfect backdrop for your rooftop garden. It is lovely!
Kell, your hybridizing with brugs. has truly paid off. You probably are the leading grower in the US, maybe the world. It would be a shame for you to grow tired of them, with all the work involved, now that you are seeing such positive results.
Tussee
Kell, that bloom is to die for! Hope she continues to look that way.
Gordon, those pics are great. You have created your own bit of paradise with a million dollar view, haven't you!
Barb
Kell:
You've got the best pink Brugs. Lucky
You have a real "Pink Paradise" on the go in Kellifornia! Super selection of Kellamatos too!
Kell, she is gorgeous. I love that dark dark pink almost red color.
Wow, Kell. Gorgeous blooms.
Gordon, your pics are beautiful.
I agree Tussie, Gordon's night shots are so beautiful. I would just love to be sitting on his roof looking out on that view while smelling his brug blooms all around me. And sipping some good wine. LOL I sure need a new camera I have decided. As soon as I feel better I am going to get moving and sign up for a class I think. For some reason, I refuse to read manuals so I really need a person to lead me along.
Thanks for the offer Gordon, though if my kid needs to get bailed out, he best just stay in jail for his Mom will kill him. LOL
Thank you all, everyone on this forum is so supportive of each other. It is so nice. And LOL Joelle. You are so funny.
Tomato pie? Sounds yummie!!!
Gorgeous seedlings, Kell.
Heck...I would love Gordonhawks roof with rotgut wine...!
Kelley---Carol --- Well there is one favored chair.. we can bring other chairs back also.both of you are welcome... to come and we'll find the wine of your choice to be sure.. as you can see..in the darkest of night.. there are getting to be a bunch offlowers happening now... up from two or three a few days ago... to well over three dozen now... and that's with just a small %...of them open... this chair willl be surrounded in a day or so... so come on by..
Barb... you're surel;y welcome to visit me here.. as well as at mothers...[ most everything you gave me there is doing just wonderfully .. it was all so lovely ] also... and thanks... well not quite at a million dollar view just yet. in a year or so it will be...don't know if I can hold out ..I might have to move along a bit earlier than that.. but that photo of the night cityscape and the garden... might well be worth 50 grand in the sale campaign.
here's the chair.. with so many flowers open.. and wine .. [although with 4 types of Mint... Mojitoes are the house beverage... along with jasmine iced tea.. locallly grown flowers w/ imported tea ] I can take no responsibility for anything happening here..
Gordon
Oh Tussee... well thanks for the complements on the picture... I've been trying for 10 years to get the photo as close to the experience as I have there.. you're welcome visit also.. and not to worry... if there is a chair shortage.. there's always the couch... [Kelley... and it's great for napping also ] and it has it's own beverage table...
Gordon
I am too old for rotgut wine, Carol. LOL! We need champagne to go along with our champagne view! How does that sound? My treat. LOL
Your brugs are not disappointing you at all, Gordon. They look fabulous. Do you ever sleep out there at night?
I can really go for your jasmine iced tea with locallly grown flowers in imported tea! I am a tea drinker!! Sounds so refreshing on a hot day.
We cross posted. So that couch is outside also? OK That is mine. LOL. Tussee gets the floor. LOL
What a lovely place you have created, Gordon!
I love your roof garden Gordon. How do you keep everything watered?
Kell..
well first.. the flowers of both KBG X KR and reds baby are awesome.. such developed tendrals.. impressive...
OH... if there's disapointment in the garden... it's just with myself.. it is as it is..I justtry to understand it .. and work with nature... I've gotten pretty good at understanding ..it's not aganst me... but I have pushed it a good deal to get it all continueing up there as it does
.. and yes... I often sleep out there in the garden sometimes for only a few hours.. and sometimes till the birds awaken me in the morning..or the sun starts blasting.. a few weeks ago.. with day time temps of 100+ out there .. and the roof temps of over 150*F.. and the year old A/C unit awaiting a compressor control board... it was priceless.. I just have to make sure the pond has it's mosquito abatement treatment in it's proper strength.. we'll have to get a night time shot of the pond.. with the fountain.. and colored underwater lighting... now that I can shoot in the dark... unfortunately the fogger is down this year... I'm looking for a new fuse unit that seems to have snapped off the transformer.. as the erieness of the cool fog...was appreciated by the nearby plants.. and it looked prehistoric... right out of Jurassic Park

Not fair, not fair! Kell, you always get to ride in the front and now you want the only seat available on Gordon's terrace.
Tussee
Gordon I really hate the city but I love your pics of it in the background. What a view at night.
Kell as always your photos and plants look like they could walk off my monitor and into my yard. That is one lovely flush. If I could get over my fear of being outside and wondering around in the dark I might try some night photos myself. The seem worth it.
Dott
Gordon are you any where close to BensonHurst?
Phicks..
Hi.. I'm pretty near there .. about a 15 minute drive... it's further out and a bit in land from me.. What's the interest there.. for you... Gordon
