Question Mark (Polygonia interrogationis)
Magpye, I don't think your Question Mark is ovipositing. It looks to be relieving itself from some fluid. Question Mark ova don't look like that and I don't think that viburnum is a host plant (but I could be wrong about that). Usually when a butterfly oviposits her abdomen curls down to touch the leaf before the ova comes out. She would never chance her ova being waved in the air like that. I once watched a butterfly "relieve" itself on my car. Actually your butterfly looks like she may be calling in a male. Females have a tendancy to raise their abdomens like that to release pheromones to attract males. Nice observation though, and very quick with the camera !!
