Help with Jalapeno's

I purchased a Jalapeno at the store today, and I would like to use the seeds to grow my own pepers. I have the seeds sitting out on a peice of paper towel for now, but don't know what I should do with them next. Do I soak them in water for a while, can I plant them right away? Any help would be appreciated! I plan to grow them indoors, not in a garden...
