This dragonfly had an obsession with the little ball thingy at the top of my car antenna. It was brilliant RED.
Friendly Bug
Wow, he's beautiful. I've had dragonflies and damsel flies but no red ones. You are so lucky.
Great shots!
TIFFANYA,
Thank you! You're too kind.
PIXYDISH,
Maybe if you were NICER to me, I'd come up and take your pic and show ya!! lol
Those are terrific shots. You should post them in the photos forum so everybody could notice them. /;-)~~ Blooms
PIXYDISH,
I tried to put them in bug files, but it would not let me for some reason. Ummm, actually, lakewood is NORTH of Marysville, at xit 206, turn left over I-5, go 1 mile, you'll be at lakewood!!
Cant believe I am CAVING to such obvious manipulation and threats, but its a Canon Powershot A-430. Has a macro down to .4 inches out to 20 inches. Not sure just how MUCH .4 IS, but its CLOSE, lol For our friends up in the Great White North, thats 2 mm according to the book.
Feel free to enter them for me, or notify me of when it is. I'll split the prize with ya!! :)
I suspect a lot of the quality is due to the photographer. Did you take classes ski or are you just a natural?
KATYMAC,
I took classes LONG ago, but NOT for a DIGICAM type. Took forensic photograpy back in college, during the mastadon era. But, thank you for your kind words.
Oh Skidivur,
Our Pixidish lives in the REAL Lakewood, home of Lakewold Gardens which is south of Tacoma. Perhaps her proximity to Fort Lewis and McCord AFB with their bombing exercises and airplanes taking off and landing practically on top of her house explains her chronic sick headaches. See, it's not our fault at all!
Your pictures are, as always, gorgeous!
Ah but if you live around McCord long enough all that noise becomes normal. Right? I know because I grew up about a quarter mile from it. I remember a few (you know 10, 15, whatever) years ago one of those planes dropped an engine into a field right next to my sister in laws place. Perfectly normal event. It happens. I bet Pixy considers all that noise just a lullaby to go to sleep by.
The REAL Lakewood...

LOL!
Oh you jesters! Skidivur, you sound just like bluelytes! He was always calling the Lakewood up north the 'real' Lakewood.
I live really close to Lakewold Gardens, right down the street in fact. So that means I'm close enough to Ft. Lewis that sometimes I wonder if we're under attack. You WOULD think I'd get used to it, but I don't. I even grew up in the military, but I never get used to the 'war games'. In fact, it will likely keep me from wanting to retire here. It's just never quiet. I didn't start really noticing that until last year. It is very likely that the bombing contributes to my chronic 'sick headaches', but generally Herpst and Skidivur start them.
Oh, by the way, it wasn't 'manipulating' or 'threatening' in any way! I would NEVER do such mean things! I'm really nice! I was just letting you know up front the consequences of not telling me the kind of camera you have. That's all. REally! It was always YOUR Choice whether to give in or not!
PIXYDISH,
Dont be saying nothing BAD bout that FINE, WONDERFUL, KIND, GIVING, CARING bluelytes. :P I know where MANY things are in the fake lakewood, I lived near there for many years, before I got smart and MOVED OUT, lol.
