Never heard of "Little Prince". Where'd you get it? (Somewhere on the 'net, I'm hoping!)

Looks like a nice compact dwarf, more than "Superdwarf Cavendish" even.

its not even a dwarf.....its a mini! it only grows to about 3 ft tall.....and you are in luck. I bought it when I was down in Dallas, but it was cultivated in your neck of the woods. A member here, Tigerlily123, is friends with the guy who made this strain. They live in the Raleigh, NC area

Thanks, cap'n. I googled a bit and found several sources for it.

How do the bananas taste?

(Linda) Winfield, KS(Zone 6a)

capt they wouldn't be hardy to our zones would they? They are nice looking nanas.

Wichita, KS(Zone 6a)

I think these guys are hardy only to zone 8, but I might be wrong. I need to get a better picture....that one I took is horrible

I will be watching a picture.

alright, here is a closeup. He has been throwing out a new leaf every week. The leaves are very thick and rubbery

Here is a pic of the whole nanner grove. The tallest banana is probably a little over 5 ft for reference:

Just a stocky little trouper!

Go, Little Prince, GO!

lol Robert I keep thinking of Prince Charming when I hear the name. but the name is actually for his son . here is a picture of the two of them in Randy's yard with a Sabal palmeto behind them.

I think I remember Randy saying that the banana was only hardy to zone 9

Thanks for that little tidbit, tigerlily.

People often ask me why a plant is called this or that, and if they ask me about this one, thanks to you, I'll know.
