Might be very ordinary, but still pretty exciting to me!
metallic taro beginning to bloom
Me three! I think I'll hit one of the Asian markets in San Fran tomorrow and see what it turns up!!
Wow! Capt, can we see the whole plant? Like those leaves behind it, too, canna?
Its not ordinary for me! Really nice.
vizz - those are pretty plants. That one EE has a very long stalk!
AuntB - Yeah....those are Bengal Tiger Stripe Cannas behind the Taro. They are throwing off pups like crazy. If you want some we'll have to arrange for your daughter to stop by sometime when she is in town

Very nice! Are the backs of the leaves purple?
Hey capt,
In the second picture, the yellow flower on the left, is that a canna with green leaves and a burgundy stripe????????? Which one is it??? I definitely need to find one of those.
It is absolutely beautiful and very unique.
Janet
Canna Cleopatra?
JanetOS - I'm sorry, I don't know - that is Vizz8's garden pic
Badseed - the back of the leaves are more green
Oh, I'm sorry, I just realized that they were from 2 different people.

So, the foliage on cleopatra has a burgundy stripe, also, or am I seeing things????
Thanks for the id, Viv!!
Janet
Both the foliage and the flowers are variable on Cleopatra. You never know how much variegation you will get on either. It's one of my favorite canna!
It's beautiful!!
I never knew the foliage was striped!!
I learned something today!!
Thanks Viv, I am gonna have to be on the lookout for that one.
Janet
Cool! thanks, oh, nice nanner leaves, too.
