Bad day

I have been babying 20+ brugs since last fall. Have almost all planted in the ground. It has been 100+deg for 2 weeks now and some are doing just fine, but no "Y"s. Look at this 7ft+ CG today. I need help. John

I don't know if this helps, but I've had pretty good results with anti-transpirant spray[like Cloud Cover] It seals in the moisture of the leaves, works great on Japanese Maples.

Oh my John. That is so hot for way too long. Brugs prefer it under 80 so I bet they are not doing too much while it is so hot. I wish I had some good advice like Kimmers had for you. You still have time for Ys and flowers I would think.

I know how you feel with the heat, we had storm last night and Tornadoe just ten miles away so it has cooled off, hopefull they will also get relief from the bugs

Good grief, Doris! You certainly deal with some weather, don't you? Glad you weren't hit by the tornado. Those are just nothing but scary!

That is sad to see John. Sorry it's been so brutal with the weather.
My CG puts out it's biggest flush of blooms in September. I have one that is just now beginning to Y and hope for some blooms in Sept.
Don't give up. Hope your weather cools down some for you.

Kin, I didn't realize your CG flushed so late. I thought that would be your 2nd or 3rd flush. Now I don't feel so bad. I have one only about 4 feet tall that is just now budding and one about 8 feet tall that has Ys on it from last year that I don't think (can't see the top, too tall) it is budding.

Maybe there is hope yet?

I had 1 small flush last month before the heat hit [ CG ]. Now there are maybe 12 flowers on tree . Its about 15 feet tall and as wide . No seed pods . A few more buds at this time .
One small flush on a frosted pink [ 8 flowers ] . No more buds at this time .
There was /were 3 double whites - no more buds at this time . A standard cutting from Kell
I only got one flower on butterfly , no more buds at this time . A standard cutting from Kell .
I have about another 20 cuttings at least 3 feet tall that aren't "Y-ing " yet and 3 standards that were 'Yed " when I got them . No buds at this time on them .
My sang had 3 or 4 flowers when I bought it last May - Nothing sense . The 3 Sang seedlings - one died , one has been wilted for more than a week - probably dead but still hoping'cause it's still green . The last one is very leggy . Too much GA-3 , mighty plant and Messanger ?
None of my Datura even have buds - any advice besides prayer ?
