Or do you know where I can find one? Thanks!
Does any one recognize this beauty?
Laurie,
It looks like Vriesea splendide, albomarginated.

Are you getting into bromeliads, too?
Looks like their nursery isn't too far from Kartuz! Maybe we can make an appointment to visit when we're down there next week.
Aren't bromeliads gorgeous? Unfortunately I lost more than half of mine 3 years ago. My greenhouse was packed so I had to put them in my barn with a faulty kerosene heater. I found out which ones were tender and which ones were tough. Here's an old picture of part of my collection. I will build them up again one day.
I'm always tempted when I see them, and I did see some nice one's at the cacti/succulent sale a few weeks ago (scroll down near the bottom of this thread http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/625449/ . But since begonias get priority in the greenhouse, broms aren't in the picture until I build another greenhouse.
I do have a few Tillandsias, one that Cassandra gave me while I was in FL. and this one that I bought at California Carnivores this weekend. Named T. stricta 'Hard leaf'
edited to correct the name of the tillandsia

I've turned into an Earth Star fanatic but the brom you posted in the beginning of the thread is amazing! HCMC, that's a beautiful planting you have there. Oh, and I'd KILL to be able to go to Kartuz. I mail order from them all of the time. Lucky lucky you!
Hi Lali,
I can see that you are going strong for bromeliads,
and I am trying to trade some of mine, specially
billbergias, cryptanthus and neoregelias among other less known
genuses for begonias.
Will you be interested ??????
Armando.
Sure Armando, shoot me a dmail with some photos, because I'm such a neophyte regarding these names wont mean too much. You know what I have to trade! (those philos and of course begonias!!)
