Hi from New Hampshire

New Hampshire, NH(Zone 5b)

Well I joined a couple months ago, but I'm just getting around to exploring the different forums (been too busy in my garden :o). In some ways I consider myself new to gardening because, while I've always had an interest in it, it wasn't until last spring that I got seriously bit by the bug!! Now I can't seem to think of or do anything else in my spare time! I have a mostly shady yard so I've learned to love shade plants. I also have a water garden which I love most of all.

So far I am really impressed with what I see at this sight. It seems a little more friendly than other garden forum sites I've visited. I hope to get to know some of you and I look forward to learning more about this wonderful, addictive hobby we all have in common!

Hello & Welcome SongsofJoy!!
I also have a shady yard and it's because of DG that I've learned how to deal with my shade instead of cutting down some trees. I'm rather new to this site myself (almost a year) but I feel that I've come along way in that time. My garden is not even a year old yet but already it's getting packed and shade-tolerant plants pretty much dominate. I'm mostly into hostas these days and have taken a liking to the hosta forum (be warned.....they're all enablers over there, hehe).

Glad to meet you and hope to see your around the forums!

welcome songs of joy

My garden is just the opposite of yours. 1 shade spot and the rest are mainly sun. There is some shade early morning and late evening in the sun spots. Oh so hard to work in them. So I'm usually out early and late.

I have a variety. No special favs. Some I do like more than others.Daylilies, iris, peony to name a few.
Like lots of different annuals. So I'm not picky unless they are invasive.

Have fun!
