Thanks Kelly!!
Oh Tom, if I could fast forward time! Those are very healthy, how much sun do they get? There are six in a six inch pot should I divide them or leave them as is and winter in the GH. We are about 6 weeks to first frost. Thanks, Joelle ;)
Joelle, I have it where it gets a couple of hours of low-angle/indirect sun per day... the rest of the time it's in shade. I have no idea what would be best at your latitude - my guess is it could take a bit more sun as the intensity should be less. Many alocasias and colocasias can take full sun but in my experience Frydek gets fried if given too much exposure.
Tom your Frydek is gorgeous, so green and healthy looking, it must love where you have it and the care you give it.
Imcanadian yours looks great as will, I think Tom has his in the ground which allows them to grow larger. I am like you when winter comes they have to go into the GH or someplace where they won't get frozen. That's why sometimes I think it is best to have them in pots then you don't have to dig them up. Do I sound lazy or what?
2pugdogs, I think I see a pot that Tom's Frydeks are in, but he is such a good grower, its hard to see because his other plants are so full and healthy!!
Pug, do you keep yours actively growing in the winter?
my black magic keeps growing for me in the winter in the GH.
OMG............ guys you all have beautiful plants with great lining on the leaves.

Thanks! I am so excited, next year my shade garden will be ears and Hostas!
I'm having trouble with my Frydek. It keeps dying down and coming back. Last little leaves have just died.
Linda, could it me getting to much sun?
It's on my deck, under a tree and gets almost no sun, just lots of light. My A cuprea and hoyas are in the same area. We have had a few rains, so maybe too much moisture?
Mine is in a clay pot and dries out between watering. Yours sounds like it needs a lot more light. Mine gets a few hours of direct sun. Alocasia seems to like to dry out between watering whereas colocasia doesn't mind wet feet, actually prefers it.
I'll repot it and see what's going on, then I'll move it to where it can get more sun.
